Nutkin's Story
Nutkin arrived at Manaia Kindergarten in September 2007. Our friends in America - (Kindergarten Tales, in Carol Stream, Illinois) - wrote a post on their blog about squirrels. Our children commented that we did not have squirrels in New Zealand - so Cindy and her class sent us our very own squirrel - who we named - Nutkin.
Nutkin is a vital member of our Kindergarten team and has visited many of our children's homes. This blog celebrates Nutkins adventures - as told by the children, families and teachers of Manaia Kindergarten.

Liam you had great fun showing Nutkin around our garden. He did seem a bit hungry when he came to visit. So, with the help of Niall and your friends Meg and Sam we fed him some Macadamia Nuts and some seeds off the Bottle Brush Tree. Once he was full we took him to see Gran, your great-gran. She was so pleased to meet Nukin and see you again.
