Nutkin's Story
Nutkin arrived at Manaia Kindergarten in September 2007. Our friends in America - (Kindergarten Tales, in Carol Stream, Illinois) - wrote a post on their blog about squirrels. Our children commented that we did not have squirrels in New Zealand - so Cindy and her class sent us our very own squirrel - who we named - Nutkin.
Nutkin is a vital member of our Kindergarten team and has visited many of our children's homes. This blog celebrates Nutkins adventures - as told by the children, families and teachers of Manaia Kindergarten.

Hello Zara,
I am so surprised to see Nutkin so close to your dog. Most squirrels are very afraid of dogs. You must have a very kind dog! And Nutkin must be very brave too. Thanks for sharing what Nutkin did at your house with us. We really enjoy seeing what he's up to.

Nutkin looks to be having such a wonderful time reading, drawing, playing with toys, and watching the goldfish at Nanna & Poppa's house.
Nutkin must be the most travelled squirrel in the whole wide world! I wonder if you would be able to bring Nutkin to Waipukurau next time you visit?
